About the speaker
Zach Leighton is a strategic advisor with experience across government, diplomacy, campaigns, and business. He is Principal of Leighton Strategies, where he works with organizations, executives, and leaders at the intersection of politics, technology, and civic engagement. Previously, Zach was Senior Advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to Germany at the U.S. Department of State. He also served as Chief of Staff for the Office of the Staff Secretary at the White House. In addition to his government service, he has worked on three presidential campaigns, including as Senior Advisor and Traveling Aide to the Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee in 2024 and as New York Deputy State Director for the Biden for President campaign in 2020. Originally from Jericho, New York, Zach is a graduate of the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. He was a Munich Security Conference Young Leader and World Economic Forum Global Shaper. Zach is a proud alumnus of Camp Winadu where he spent thirteen summers as a camper, counselor, and program director.
